Indigo Man

I ’ve got no idea about the song yet, but I just wanted to add one little thing to that fascinating interpretation thread from ages ago:
the first thing I associated with the word "Indigo" was of course "blue", but in the sense of "to be blue"= "to have the blues", to feel down etc. (it doesn ’t mean "drunk" in English, as far as I know).
This may be just one of many aspects in its intended meaning, of course. (Or meanwhile known to all, or merely nonsense, that ’s up to you...)

There always comes a song to my mind that goes like

"She's my little indigo, indigo girl"

I've no idea where it comes from, but it shows that more people use that expression.

Hi!

I know it's a bit late to answer, so, ecxuse me.. ^^

What comes on my mind, when I hear the song "Indigo Man" is a man who works at an indigo plantation, wearing a straw hat and simple clothes. But he has a pure heart. On this plantation such things like polltution or violence don't exist.. it's a real dream-land far away from us.

Sorry for my bad english ;)

greetz,
